First of all: happy holidays, friends! This holiday season has been a busy one for our family, with an exciting new chapter that I can’t wait to share!
A New City
We’re now officially Austin residents! We moved from Tyler to Austin the day before Thanksgiving. Same state, new city, new house. We actually showed up to our closing appointment with all of our worldly possessions (and Charlie and Scooby) in tow. We signed a hundred documents and the house was ours! And then we moved in about 30 minutes later, which was both comically efficient and stressful at the same time.
Our Thanksgiving may not have been what most would consider “traditional” – unless you usually unpack boxes on Thanksgiving – but we were thankful to spend the holiday in our new home. Our pre-made Thanksgiving meal from Whole Foods was delicious, and Charlie loved the roasted turkey (or at least I assume he did, considering the fistfuls he inhaled!).
A New Job
As if a move wasn’t enough, I’ve also accepted a new full-time job to start in early January. After taking a year off I’m excited to rejoin the working world as a Registered Dietitian for Macrostax, a macro counting app. I’ll be working remotely from home doing recipe development and photography.
Chris is super excited too, mostly because there’s going to be an overwhelming abundance of delicious food flowing from our kitchen every week. He’s like, “Every day I’ll have something new and delicious to come home to!”. And I’m over here thinking, “What do I usually feed you, canned beans?!”
Either way, it’ll be a new phase for our family! Our almost-walker Mr. Charlie will be heading to daycare in January. My mama heart has a lot to adjust to in the next few months between childcare, weaning, and everything in between. This first year has flown by. I know, I know, everybody says that. But it’s because it’s SO TRUE *Insert crying emoji face*.
Tolerant Tummy Plans
I am beyond excited and grateful for the overwhelming response The Tolerant Tummy has received since going live in August. As of December 2018 my blog has had over 8,000 page views. But most importantly, I’ve loved hearing from so many of you who are also working through digestive challenges!
Every time I get a message telling me that a post or recipe made your gut health journey just a little bit easier/tastier/less embarrassing, it 100% makes my day. THANK YOU for being a part of the Tolerant Tummy community!
2019 is going to be an exciting year. There are SO many more recipes to create, FAQs to answer, and posts to write. I will be posting with less frequency moving forward because of my full-time job (and because stress is bad for my own gut health). I would rather post really high quality, fully tested/researched posts a little less often than produce something that I’m not 100% proud of. One post every two weeks is my goal. I hope you’ll follow along!
Do you have any gut health questions you’d like answered? Any topics you’re curious about, but don’t know where to start? Recipes you’d love to see? Let me know! Drop me a line here, or via Facebook or Instagram. I’d love to hear from you π
I hope you (and your tummy) have a happy and healthy holiday season!
Love, Sarah
